[Mog Monday] Dharion's Minimalist Mail

Patch 5.3
Ember Isolte's [Mog Mondays] present us with a thorough look at our favorite transmog sets! With her trained eye for design, Ember explains why certain pieces just "belong" and she helpfully highlights how to obtain each item (Powered by Wowhead). While most of the 'mogs featured here are classics and customs "tailored" by Ember herself, we love to spotlight 'mogs designed and inspired by you! If you have an idea for a 'mog or would like your favorite 'mog featured on [Mog Monday] please contact us!

Inspiration

Hello! Today's [Mog Monday] features Brian's hunter, Dharion! Here's what Brian had to say regarding the inspiration for this look:
"I wanted to have kind of minimalist look, so I went for mails that had the look of leather. After all, I can't see a hunter who (in theory) spends most of their time in the wilderness, covered head to toe in mail. Too likely to rust...not good when that orc is swinging an axe at you. The chest I left mail, just because I can see a hunter wanting extra protection on the torso."

Why It Works

Based on the Brian's inspiration plus a little personality flair with the colors in the belt, boots and gloves, I'd say this set covers the "minimalist" look quite well; it's very primal with the teeth, fur, and bone theme throughout. It looks like something you'd expect to see a hunter wearing if they were the type of hunter who enjoyed week long hunting trips and lived off the land in the meantime.

You may be thinking that the belt doesnt match at first, but if you take a closer look at the back of the character, the scaled look on the belt matches perfectly with the boots. I like that subtle detail especially since I personally enjoy when the back of my toon looks nice (since I'm the one staring at it most of the time!!!)

Exceptions

Personally, I'd go with the crossbow for my ranged weapon in this look because the bow is a little too ornate and the colors don't really fit into the earthy browns and reds of the gear. And the gun is also a little too ornate for the earthy, rugged look, but I feel that it brought emphasis to the bones in the chestpiece better than any other gun.

Thank you for checking out my 'Mog Blog! Tell me what you think and leave a comment below! I do read all your comments and I love to hear the feedback! :3 Cheers and see you next time!

Disclaimer

It is only my opinion that the items chosen for this 'mog are the best looking for the set. Please don't hesitate to leave a comment with your suggestions of better pieces if you have any! Also, many of the pieces do have alternative items with the same look and color. If you need to find an alternative piece from the ones I've listed above, I highly suggest checking out Icy-Veins' Transmogrification Guides!
