So, this li'l blog post is actually about a little something happened on my stream a couple days ago. I was playing Minecraft, then everyone was like, "Nuuu! Play WoW!" So, I started up WoW and did two battlegrounds. The first BG in particular went way better than I anticipated it was going to go since I hadn't played WoW since I last streamed it in December, nonetheless I hadn't even PvP'd in over a month. I closed out the stats at the end of the BG so fast since I didn't even care to look, but someone in the stream chat pointed out that I was at the top for Alliance. I didn't think anything of it but I found myself watching the PvP part of that stream again just last night to see if anything cool happened that I'd like to edit into a YouTube video. I paused it on the chart and here's a screenshot:

Can you do me a favor? Can you watch that BG (http://www.own3d.tv/video/423405) and tell me how it was even possible that I got the most killing blows? Is it wrong that I feel like Alliance may just suck that much in my battlegroup if I can go away from WoW and get rusty for a month yet still top killing blows when I come back?? I don't know, man.... Or maybe you can watch that EotS and tell me that I actually don't suck at PvP as much as I think I do. lol. I'd appreciate the feedback on my PvP skills (or lack thereof) either way as long as it's constructive. Thanks!

Black March to Protest Internet Censorship!

If you're following me on any other social networks, I thank you for dealing with my major cross-posting but I really want to get the word out everywhere I can because I believe we can really do this. I'm uploading this image about the Media boycott the internet is calling "Black March" on every social network I personally use to encourage my social circles to further protest Stop Online Piracy Act, Protect IP Act, and Internet Censorship in general! We NEED a free and open internet!

And although both bills have been postponed, it's just that: postponed. They will come back because of the sheer amount of money poured into lobbying for them possibly in the form of new bills and/or random pieces slipped into bills that have nothing to do with them, so we need to keep our eyes and ears open if we really want to keep the internet FREE OF CENSORSHIP.

AND specifically during this coming March, let's SHOW them that "We will not tolerate the Media Industries' lobbying for legislation which will censor the internet."

SOPA & PIPA

If you don't know what SOPA is by now, here's a very informative post on SOPA (and PIPA) from the official reddit blog: http://blog.reddit.com/2012/01/technical-examination-of-sopa-and.html.

As of now there is little I can personally do other than to make more people aware of the SOPA situation. So, I'm joining the internet protest with a "STOP CENSORSHIP" banner over my blog's header image. Depending on how things pan out, I may leave it there longer than the 24 hour "internet protest". For now, SOPA has been "shelved", but it doesn't mean that legislation can't and won't slip parts of SOPA into new bills up for vote, and PIPA (Protect IP Act) is still to-be-voted-for on January 24th. So, please click the "STOP CENSORSHIP" banner to sign the e-petition, send a letter to Congress, and if you're not in America you can even petition the state department in your country via the banner link (http://americancensorship.org/).

Without going into crazy detail, my personal stance on SOPA is this:

It won't stop movie and music piracy at all. [period] I honestly don't believe it will even slow it down in the slightest.
It's bad for business. Start-ups and e-businesses will have a dramatically more difficult time setting up any kind of website because of the need to prepare for potential offending links on forums for example, and they'll need to be careful on which sites they themselves advertise on.
The vague language in the actual bill is obviously vulnerable to be abused.

Let's hope that this internet protest will open more eyes to the SOPA situation and get our congressmen to KILL SOPA all together.

Hey everyone! After trying out Livestream.com, and Twitch.tv... I've finally found a home for my broadcast with Own3d.tv! Huge thanks to all of you viewers for being so patient with me and my sporadic testing-out all these websites, because I know how annoying it is to register new accounts just to be able to chat with me and the other viewers on different sites. Well friends, thank you for all the healing vibes because I have no doubt in my mind that your well wishes helped! TMI: I passed the kidney stone and now I just have to take it in to the doctor to get it analyzed so they can give me more specific info about how unhealthy I am lol. XD

Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts in this little "first time" of mine. I was scared to tell you the truth and I still am a little scared about what the doc's gonna say, but we'll see. Much love to you all.

Personal Reflection

Let me preface with this: this blog entry is a personal reflection of recent events regarding my health. No cause for alarm here, I simply wanted to get my thoughts out of my head while I'm thinking them...

Last week, Nuku took me to the hospital at around 10pm Wednesday night for the first time in my life due to some really painful aches in my lower back (or so I thought that's where the pain was from). I felt silly since I've never gone to the hospital before and we don't even have a regular physician. We even went to the wrong entrance where a nice lady in "Patient Registration" directed us to the ER! There was a family in the waiting room when we arrived so I was nervous about how long we'd be waiting. But I filled out the short information form and the triage nurse called me up in less than 10 minutes. She asked me to pee in a cup which was fail because I had just gone to the bathroom at home before Nuku took me to the ER because I thought I just had some really bad gas cramps! XD The nurse sent me back to a curtained off room where I signed more paperwork as another nurse hooked me up to an IV and drugged me with three drugs (I can't remember the names of atm) to get rid of the pain quickly. The doctor told me I may have a kidney stone. They ordered me a CT Scan, that was another first for me too, and results showed that I do in fact have kidney stones. "Of note, there is a duplicated left kidney." hehe.. Ya, I just found out last week that I have 3 kidneys too. The doctor compared the abnormality to having a 6th finger. =3

So he wrote me a prescription for some Vicodin for when the pain comes back since the stones aren't big enough for invasive treatment/surgery (thank gods!) but I'll have to pee the damn thing out! He gave me an odd strainer thingy and said that until I "catch" the stone, they can't really tell me anything else about how the stone formed and what I can do to prevent them in the future. XD Sorry if this is way too much information, but I am thoroughly amused that I have to strain my own urine and actually look for a stone as small as a grain of sand!

My family doesn't have a history of kidney stones that I know of, but my mom's side has a history of diabetes. Doc said It can take up to 2 weeks for a stone to pass so I'm doing a little more research on kidney stones in the meantime so I at least know more about it. XD

I'm turning 27 at the end of November and this incident has given me that feelin' old mentality! At least it's helped as far as reminding me that I need to take better care of myself. I popped a pill just a minute ago since the pain is what prompted these thoughts in the first place. Hope this passes before BlizzCon and not during! XD The pain is unbearable when it happens, but that's the problem: it's really random and sporadic. Wish me luck with this. Thanks.

I have been getting so many messages asking me, "Where are you?" on YouTube that I finally buckled down and recorded a quickie for you today! By the way, you all make me feel SO loved and awesome with your messages that I am feeling like an asshole not giving you more regularly scheduled content! But that doesn't mean you should stop sending me messages! <3 Hehe. XD I really am sorry about the lack of video content lately, but I've been busy with my costume and other artsy things... AND to be totally honest, I'm still not completely over the whole idea of "Who would care to hear and watch me talk about my-fat-self anyway?" XD.

Aaanywaayy, I decided to shorten the video title from "Weekly Talking Fun" (like the previous vlogs) to just "WTF". I swear, only 3 people even saw that acronym which was the whole reason why I even wanted to call it "Weekly Talking Fun" despite the horrible English... But maybe it was just so under the radar barely anyone noticed. And if you DID notice, and didn't say anything, well.. Kudos to you even though you didn't say anything to me about it! ^_^

So, in this update video, I just show off some progress on my costume and some gift art I've been working on for my friends in the WoW/YouTube community. Also Please don't expect a song from me before BlizzCon since I'm devoting all my free time to these projects and the cosplay thing is a lot bigger a project than I thought it'd be XD. I'm SO glad I started it when I did!

Cosplay Update!

Firstly, I'm sorry that I haven't been keeping you up to date with my [what were supposed to be] weekly vlogs. DX I haven't posted a new video since WTF#9 three weeks ago! But in my defense, I have good personal reasons for skipping them! Besides real life stuff going on like my nephew's second birthday and getting out of the house more regularly, the time away from my computer has paid off in that it has given me enough time away from WoW and YouTube to finally make some decisions about what to do for my cosplay for BlizzCon! And with the new project underway I'm getting some serious BlizzCon fever!

So, I've decided on Dwarf Shaman in T10. Reasons: 1) Because dwarves have skin color that I don't have to use body paint for; 2) I LOVE Shaman T10; and 3) Dwarves don't require stilts. XD As a sidenote, I still plan to do a Dreanei or Worgen cosplay at some point with those stilts that I commissioned, but as of now I don't see it coming together in time for BlizzCon this coming October. The stilts are simply not 100% ready for a costume because they still need permanent straps to hold my feet securely onto them. In the test video I uploaded to YouTube a while back, I improvised with some rope and just tied my feet down. XD Heh.. Yeah, dangerous... But not only that, the metal is RUSTING! I mean, I knew ahead of time (before Gir shipped them to me) that I'd have to figure out a way to strap my feet on somehow myself, but the rust was a surprise to me. =[ I picked up some "Rust Destroyer" and some Plasti-Dip spray for them, but that project will have to wait until after BlizzCon since I'm going full speed ahead on this Dwarf Shaman idea.

I did a little shopping over the weekend and now I have pretty much all the supplies I need for building this costume. I even ordered some blue LED "Power Dots" from thatscoolwire.com for the lighty bits of the gear set ^_^. And those shipped so fast: ordered on the 23rd and they arrived at my house on the 25th! I'm still not exactly sure how to go about building everything, but I'm pretty resourceful, so I know that I'll at least be proud of the final outcome. I'm so excited!

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I made a real written post on my blog, so I thought I'd take a moment...

... Hehe, I find it so ironic that on the nights that I decide to stay up all night and play WoW I forget that it's Tuesday and an inevitable shutdown is scheduled...

... But it makes this moment a really good opportunity to tell you about my WoW shenanigans while I'm still in a WoWy mood. XD

So, I rarely ever queue for heroics without a tank friend since I refuse to heal just for insta-queues, but last night I decided to just do it, and the average wait time was way less than it usually is for a DPS by about 10 minutes! My guess as to why it was a shorter wait time is probably because of all the straggler Tanks and Healers trying to cap their Valor Points for the week! XD Anyway, I ran a couple "random" Zandalari Heroics (both Zul'aman..yuck) and then a random regular Heroic (Shadowfang Keep) and the groups I PUG'd with were such good sports!

I was in a stupid "I'm famous" mood tonight (lol), so I pooped my YouTube URL chat macro in Party Chat at the end of the instances and I felt really embarrassed when the healer in the first group actually knew who I was... DX Mind you, I don't click that macro in every single group I PUG... I'm not that full of myself lol... and usually no one even knows or cares about WoW parodies or so it seems ^_^. So, I was happy that someone knew me, but I was terribly embarrassed at the same time. Hehehe... *awkward grin* But the rest of the group all were genuinely interested in the link and actually went to it! XD Such nice folks online in the wee hours of the morning, I swear...anyway... XD

Regarding the title of this post: I am really liking 4.2. I think it's because it's easy mode for me, or I have discovered a way to get gear faster than I usually ended up with in previous patches. I'm totally diggin' the ability to convert Justice Points into Honor Points! Because now I can put together a decent PvP set to stop hating PvP before even setting foot in a Battleground!! XD I'd definitely not consider myself the PvP type, but if you watched the tail end of my Livestream this last Sunday, you may have seen an Isolte PvPing AND Arena-ing!!! And what's cool about running a bunch of Zandalari Heroics is that I got PvE gear from Boss drops while farming JPs to turn into HPs. Win. Win. Win. XD

Honestly, I never thought I'd ever step foot in an arena, but Crykoda was obviously very successful in convincing me to join him in 2v2 (Feral Druid + Enhancement Shaman). I honestly never thought the resilience gear was going to make that much of a difference for me (cuz I always just thought I sucked at PvP though I never had the gear, mind you...) so I assumed I just hated it and would never PvP at all 'til very, very recently ^_^. After getting just 2 pieces of the Valorous set and hopping into BGs and Arenas... I think this PvE and lore junkie may actually ENJOY PvP! Whodathunkit?! It's funny too 'cause I could have had 2 more set pieces than I have now because I stupidly thought I'd enjoy PvP healing, so I wasted some Honor on 2 healing pieces. But Crykoda and I did a test 2v2 where I just stayed in my Enhance PvE spec and PvE gear... And we found ourselves #WINNING!! LoL.

It's funny right now too because as I type this, my spec is still the same as it's always been: Enhance PvE. I never respec'd for PvP and our Wins-Losses in 2v2 is 24-23!! Haha. Maybe I should buckle down and do some Enhancement Shaman PvP research... or I'll worry about that later.

All I know is: I'm having fun right now and that's all that matters. XD

I'm goin' to BlizzCon 2011!

Got my ticket yesterday! I was 1070 in the queue. =3 WOOO! I'm so excited! This will be my first BlizzCon so I have no idea what to expect! I've been to sci-fi and furry conventions, so I have a small idea of what the geeky con-goers may be like. But I'm so anxious to see the EPICNESS of the convention space. Most of the cons I've been to are all hosted in hotels and the ones at the convention centers I've been to I imagine can't even compare to BlizzCon.. sooo *squee* I'm excited!

Since I live in Northern California, I'm planning to just drive down to Anaheim, but we'll see. I've got months to plan and things may change. But one thing I'm sure of is that I'm SO gonna be there!!! \o/ I can't wait to meet some of the incredible people I've gotten to know, adore, and love in the WoW Community: Rawrbug, Asiko, Summergale, Crykoda, just to name off a few people that I know are planning to be there! Woo!!

Troll Month Coming To an End

Are you ready for a collaboration of cute, cuddly, kitty proportions?! Actually, I don't know how "cute" it is, but this super fun collab has been just sitting in my To Do list for a few months now and I finally got my ass in gear and recorded my part for it. I even wrote it myself and it still took me forever to just sit my ass down and record... It didn't help that I had not one but TWO colds recently. Ugh. I found a pleasant surprise in my inventory when Cata hit. This particular item has been in my bags since forever ago... probably when Isolte was around level 15 or so from Deadmines (and you might just think this is really stupid) but I'm really happy about this so I decided to express my little sliver of happiness with you. ^_^

Ok, so.. Just for fun, I've always wanted that rare quality mining pick, the [Digmaster 5000] (a rare drop in Uldaman,) just for the simple fact that it was the only blue mining pick in the game that "Also serves as a mining pick." To my surprise, my [Miner's Revenge] has been upgraded from a green to a blue having been changed to "No longer available" as a drop in the game.

Apparently, the [Cold Iron Pick] was also upgraded from green to blue and it drops from Hogger in the new Stockades now. ^_^ So, there are now 3 rare mining picks, only 2 of which still drop in-game..

Is it dumb that I feel special-er for having this pick instead of the one I've checked the AH for and farmed for years?!?! I think not. ^_^ *giggles* Yes, it's the little things in life... *smiles contently*

Respect Your Elders

I know I'm way behind the times on this achievement, but I just finished up Glory of the Hero tonight. The reason why this is even blog-worthy is because of how tickled I am by the way Nuku and I got the achievement. XD

So, Respect Your Elders was the last meta-achievement I needed before getting my hands on the Reins of the Red Proto Drake and Nuku and I gave it a go... two-man stylez. With Nuku as a bear and me as enhance, this was actually really difficult since we figured going in that I'd need to off tank the Guardian(s)... Well, we died 3 times since I couldn't stay alive with all the extra adds on me, and for some reason, the guardians would NOT stick to me. For some reason, Nuku and I have a sneaking suspicion that Blizzard changed something in the way that they aggro a tank, cuz the boss and the guardian would just automatically run to Nuku even without him taunting... So we came up with a stupid plan...

I pull the boss into the room just before his room (to get away from the eggs that the adds spawn from) while Nuku hides in the corner and tries not to aggro ANYTHING 'til the guardian comes out. And we hoped that I could just stay on the boss while the adds attack Nuku...

What happened: I pulled the boss to the other room, Nuku accidentally taunted the boss when the add spawned. He even yelled to me IRL,
"Awe damnit, Crystal I taunted the boss!! I'm sorry!!"
I said, "Whatever just keep the adds off me!"
And the adds were on me anyway... I died! BUT Nuku shadowmelded and the guardians and adds despawned WHILE THE BOSS STAYED AGGRO'D ON NUKU!!
So, I excitedly yelled,
"I CAN SELF REZ!!"
"DO IT!!! I DUNNO WHAT THE F*CK JUST HAPPENED! BUT DO IT!"

So, I rez, we kill the boss, BAM achievement achieved. We lol'd hardcore.

Small Quick Update

I finally hit 85 last night in Twilight Highlands. I skipped Uldum completely, going from Vashj'ir to Deepholm to Hyjal (yeah weird order) to Twilight Highlands. The main reason why I skipped over Uldum is because I have a personal love for all things Egyptian and I wanted to savor the zone instead of grind through it just to level, if that makes any sense. I'm actually gonna finish off Twilight Highlands before hitting up Uldum too just because I like to quest and know about the lore of the zone.. even the filler quests.

Speaking of filler quests, there is one in Twilight Highlands that merits a longer, more in depth post from me, so expect that within the week or so. Anyway.. Feels good to be out of Tier 10 and in some random shit. I haven't stepped foot in a regular dungeon on the way from 80-85, but that can wait cuz I likey to questy. ^_^

Rift

I know this isn't exactly WoW related, but after seeing those ads on Wowhead for Rift that say, "You aren't in Azeroth anymore..." and knowing a good lot of my friends are checking it out, I decided to see what Rift was like firsthand.

My immediate thoughts on Rift after only playing for a few hours:
- The built-in UI customization is very liberating!
- Gameplay, keybinding, controls, targeting are all EXACTLY like WoW XD (not sure if that's a good thing or not.. Good if they're lookin to steal players from WoW's playerbase. Bad for WoWers who might be lookin for something "new".)
- Graphics are really pretty to say the least!
- The actual Rifts in-game are an insanely cool concept that makes the world feel epic at any level and the open option to join a "public raid" when someone "opens a Rift" tickled my fancy ^_^.
- Talent.. I mean "Soul Trees" are WAY, way, way customizable but I fear that come end-game there WILL be specific builds that are "the best" since end-game will never be as dynamic as any review makes Rift sound like it will be. Lol.

So, I got to lvl 9 and got bored. XD But I want a pony tho so I'll keep playin til this beta period is up. If anything new comes to mind, I'll be sure to share. <3

He pretty much spent a whole hour with me just creating new toons for me to get this achievement. And no, I didn't convince him to help me by saying I'm a girl or anything! lol. He just saw me in Horde Trade looking for a Troll Rogue and said that he'd help me out with Alliance too! Then he offered to friend me on RealID. Oh ya, he didn't make a new DK though, he just grabbed a guildmate. ^_^

But anyway, I wish I could repay him somehow cuz it was just so nice! I'll be sure to pass on the niceness where I can, because that's the least I can do. <3 *Feels the love*

For the Horde?

Hello Everyone! It's been far too long since my last update and I apologize for that since this one may end up being a lot longer than I thought it'd be! XD Don't worry, you non-reader types, there's a TL;DR at the end. Hahah! So, there hasn't really been much going on for Isolte, my main. Leveled her to 81 about a month after Cataclysm hit due to a huge lack of free time over the holidays and well into January and I haven't touched her since. =/ I'll get to leveling her eventually since she is my main. ^_^

And... BAM! Run Deathwing Run!

In between my last post and now has been the "official" release of the music video for Run Deathwing Run, an awe-inspiring, all-girls parody collaboration of epic proportions including vocals from me, Letomi, Sharm, PvPSiennah, Gigi, Rawrbug, Lihoification, and WoWAriel, beautifully machinimated by the talented RavenSylphe. The song alone officially made it's debut on FireMageRadio.com just a few weeks before the video was released and from what I've heard (from a few radio DJs on FMR), Run Deathwing Run, a.k.a. RDR has been a huge hit, being one of the most requested songs to be played! So, if you haven't heard the song or seen the video, I urge you to stop reading and click play on the video above right now!!

On to other "news"... I recently received some fanmail that really, really made me *squee* with joy. ^_^ I won't post the whole letter, but Beruthiel of Scarlet Crusade (US) had this about li'l ol' me:

"You made the Forsaken sound and look as cool as they (we) really are. I am grateful more than I can say. If only the rest of the Alliance were as big-hearted as you. Maybe you can teach them?"

*Giggles* Reading something like that from someone who had just explained what a die-hard horde character they are was very gratifying. The author continued to enlist me as an honorary member of their guild, "if ever you visit, however unlikely..." so I decided to take up the invitation! I leveled a troll shaman, luckily named Isolte, to level 10 on Scarlet Crusade and have been checking back often to grab a guild invite. ^_^

Speaking of horde and leveling... I decided to level yet another shaman. This one, however, is not like all the other level 10's I've randomly made. This one here is a keeper and I plan to level her all the way to 85 so that I have 2 max level shaman at my disposal (as soon as I level the Alliance Isolte anyway). Plus, I couldn't bring myself to faction change and server transfer my main because Antonidas has just become her new home and RavenSylphe is there! XD But my new horde shaman's name is Isolte too and I got her from 26 to 40 yesterday! ^_^ *feels so lucky that Isolte isn't a very common name*

And.. that's about all I can think of at the moment as far as an update goes. Thanks for reading! See you all next time!

I hope that this tabard conversion is a bug and that the Champion Tabard will at least look different or do something special-er than the one we can now buy for 8 freaking silver from the City Quartermasters! DX

The Shattering of Azeroth

Well hello my friends! I'm just posting to say I'm still here plus a tiny update. I finally got a chance to login and explore Stormwind a little bit. The Shattering of Azeroth has happened and what a crazy huge difference it is even for the little tiny bit of exploring I got to do. Obviously some textures have been updated, new lighting has been added, and holy new quests!

I rolled a human warrior to 6 just to check out the starting zone quests and everything is just... different! I'm not exactly sure how to take this all in yet. But I think I'm gonna like it. (Once I get over missing everything.) :)

Fun Fact: The Shattering occurred on November 23, 2010, World of Warcraft's 6 year anniversary since it's release in the US on November 23rd in 2004.

Cataclysm: Pre-Launch Events

I know I'm late to the party about a post on this "pre-event" stuff, but here it is. It's mostly just my opinion and experience so far, not a guide. :D

Phase 1

It all started November 7th with a round of fun quests in Stormwind (and I'm guessing Org for Horde) that introduced us to the Twilight's Hammer Cultists that are spreading the "Doomsday" message all over town. A few elemental rifts also began opening all over Azeroth and Outland and if you closed a rift (in an area fit for your character to level in) you'd get to turn in the Mysterious Device the rift left behind for some cash. Nuku and I were having so much fun hunting down rifts that we received the [Tripping the Rifts] achievement on the first night.. well technically the second night since it was 2am when we got it haha.

Phase 2

Started a couple days later unlocking some new quests in Ironforge. I'm not sure where your second phase was, my horde friends, but in my humble opinion Phase 2 was barely even a "phase" since there were very, very little new quests.. But I guess it was a phase since it was "PHASED" XD, having us hunt down angry earth elemental spirits that you could only see when you drink an elemental sapta. I did find this phase interesting in the fact that these Earth Elemental mobs exist in the same place as you, yet you can't see them without the buff.. I'm always amused by quests like this. *giggle* Yes, I'm easily amused.

Phase 3

I can't remember when this started but I sure am glad I told Nuku that we needed to do those quests yesterday or we would have missed out! Just another fun round of quests in Stormwind, capturing Twilight Cultist infiltrator's and interrupting their rituals at their "secret" locations within the city. I have to tell you, the part I found MOST amusing of this chain had nothing to do with the actual quests. I was so blown away at the texture of the ritual thingy I stared at it for a few minutes. It was the ritual that was happening in the abandoned building that resembles the SW bank in the Dwarven District.. The textures on the Ritual thingy compared to the textures on the walls of the building were like day and night. It's as if the "vanilla" building textures are 256p x 256p resolution and the new textures are something like 1024 x 1024. XD Pretty. Anyway...

Phase 4

So, the final phase of the Elemental Invasion has started today and if you haven't noticed, then you've likely not been logged on at all today because trade has been hopping with plenty of, "INV PLZ" and "WHEN IS THE NEXT INVASION??!?!" I realized later that there is no quest for the invasion so it doesnt matter if you're in a raid group or not.. It only helps to keep track of where the majority of people are fighting.

Here's how the invasions work:
In Stormwind - At the start, everyone who can help, grabs Sandbags to start placing at specifically marked locations. Objective notifications appear in the top center of your screen (or wherever your PvP/zone objectives normally show up for you depending on your UI.) When all the sandbag locations have been uhm.. sandbagged *giggle* Wind and Water elementals spawn all over the city. The key is to close every rift in each flagged section of the city (marked on your map) to secure the locations, and to free a certain number of trapped citizens within each area. Once the city is secure, portals in the Trade District open to the "perpetrators" lairs: Prince Sarsarun from (a place resembling) Ahn'Qiraj who is responsible for the air elementals and Kai'ju Gahz'rilla in Zul'Farrak for the water elementals. (But at this point you can queue for all four bosses, I'll name the other 2 in a moment.)

In Ironforge - At the start, this is just like in Stormwind, but the only difference is they are "wall reinforcements" instead of sandbags and the elements are Earth and Fire. When you've secured the city, the portals open in the Commons to the ones responsible for the Earth and Fire elementals: Crown Princess Theradras of our beloved instance Mauradon and Grand Ambassador Flamelash of Blackrock Depths.

These Event bosses are available in the dungeon finder for only about an hour after the portals open and then they do not reappear in the dungeon finder until the next invasion occurs. And I do believe that the bosses pertaining to the certain elements are inaccessible if we fail to secure the cities, as in, if IF was not secured but SW was, then only the Wind and Water bosses will be available for example. But I'm not exactly sure, so don't quote me on that. XD

Conclusion

I'm having a freakin' blast with the pre-launch events and I am so happy to be a part of it before our world is changed forever!!!! XD

Cosplay Update: The Stilt Saga

I haven't really done anything at all with my Isolte cosplay idea ever since everything fell through the cracks with Weta and the digitigrade stilts. But recently, I found a super cool guy on YouTube, WizardGiR, who is a welder, engineer, and fabricator of sorts. I contacted him via Facebook and as of last week, I've found myself a fabricator for completely custom digitigrade stilts! I sent in the measurements he asked for and he quoted a completion date for sometime around the end of February. I'm super excited to finally have a shot at making the dreanei cosplay of my dreams, but I don't want to say too much for fear of jinxing it somehow.

I'll post updates as GiR brings them to me. I'm really excited to be working with such a cool DIY'er (do-it-yourself'er) because I've seen some of his other work and they've turned out to be nothing short of amazing. My stilts will only bee the third pair he's ever built, but that's another exciting factor in that I get to see what improvements (if any) that he can make upon his last design. But srsly, there's nothing that I know of needing improvement on his last pair, so even if mine aren't all that different, I'm positive I'll be happy with them.

Kim Graham, the inventor of the Weta Legs, sent out an email just today about how her co-inventors in the states have secured a contract with a manufacturing company in the UK on a new digitigrade stilt design... She says the release of the new stilts is allocated for February-March 2011, just about the time that GiR quoted completion of my stilts. There's a part of me that is pretty pissed off that it's just "my luck" to have this news hit me after I've already found a fabricator... But there's a larger part of me that is pleased with my decision to find a custom fabricator for the pure fact that these stilts will fit me.

Well, that's pretty much all I have on the costume update. OH, wait! Maybe you all can help me? I'm still not sure what "gear set" to use for the costume, so if you can throw me some ideas I'd appreciate it. The ONLY requirement I'm asking for is PANTS, NO SKIRTS! Cuz I wanna show off these stilts/legs as MUCH as possible. XD Thanks for reading my long boring post... And I'm looking forward to your costume suggestions!

I'm at this point where I have enough Justice Points to upgrade my [Belt of the Ardent Marksman] and as an Enhancement (melee) Shaman, I really have no other option than to get the belt that visually matches the hunter Tier 10 set [Band of the Night Raven]. :( I'm sad that I can't just look like a damn shaman the same way druid tanks are now forced to look like rogues when out of bear form... but oh well.. Such is the plight of any "underdog" spec at any given point in or WoW lives. *sigh*

I'm not trying to dog the developers and game designers, but is it really THAT hard to design pieces for each spec of each class? All I'm asking for is the same look. XD Hehe.

The way in which 310% will be awarded is going to be a little quirky at first, but we plan to make it a more smooth process in a future patch. For now, you will need 280% flying in order to learn to use the Violet Proto-Drake. Once you mount the drake for the first time it will teach Master riding. I felt that this was important enough for it's own post, so here's something to note about the shirt I'm wearin' in my previous vlog and some praise for CafePress' amazing customer service! So, I received my order of 4 different styles of tops from CafePress the day before I made my last vlog. Since the blue one is my favorite of the lot, I decided to wear it first. And I'm glad I did because shortly after I recorded the vlog, I noticed that there was a tiny hole on the front of the shirt where the print starts (close to the left armpit, not noticable in the video). It must have been a snag from the printing machine, but other than the hole, the print and feel of the shirt is top quality. :)

So, I called up CafePress' toll free customer service today and their Satisfaction Guarantee is more than I hoped for! They're shipping me a brand new shirt (hopefully sans hole *giggles*) and the best part is I get to keep the holy one! I mean, it is a big enough hole that I'm going to try to patch it somehow so it doesn't get any bigger, but now I'll kind of have 2 of this cute li'l top! Yay!

And I know it may seem like I am trying to convince you to get one for yourself.. and I sort of am. :) But I'm mostly just sharing my experience with CafePress because it is my first time ordering from them and I am truly pleased with their service!

My favorite part of Brewfest is definitely the Alliance [There and Back Again] "daily" that involves riding a ram between the Brewfest grounds and Kharanos to pick up and deliver kegs. My husband and I were curious to find out just how many laps one can do, so I busted out the stopwatch and timed my husband on his run. :)

I really believe he found THE best way to do this only using 2 of the 4 apple barrels located on the "track".

His method:
1. Run directly toward the Apple Barrel located just after the tiny bridge and jump over it.
2. Run directly toward the 3 trees that are on the left side of the path (don't run ON the path because you'll miss the barrel) and jump over the 2nd Apple Barrel located just behind the snow mound.
3. Turn to head back before even catching the Keg!
4. Hit up the same 2 Apple Barrels on the way back.
5. Turn around at the quest giver/as soon as you throw the Keg.
6. Repeat!

Something the article touched on that I believe was incredibly well put is a very valid defense for when people label those who wish to change the way things are on the internet as "too sensitive" or "ignorant to the way the internet just IS". I'm so sick of people online defending how they hurt others because "they can" since "it's the internet."

I mean, I'll admit it, I am no saint when it comes to how I interact with guildies on vent and in chat. And I will slip up from time to time and say a, "That's gay," every once in a while... It's a hard habit to break when I never learned why it was a bad thing to say until it was already embedded in my vocabulary. But, I hear it when I say it now and I readily ask if I offended anyone and apologize either way. I am trying to break my habit by replacing the phrase with something way more appropriate like, "That's shitty." Lol. (Or "That's poopie," depending on who I'm around.) :p

But I guess my point is: It is ignorant to allow the negative behavior to continue by being a part of it. So, go read that article if you haven't already and let me know what you think.

It kinda weirds me out because I dunno if I should be flattered or paranoid. But for the record, the only toon named Emberisolte that IS me is the lvl 25 nelf Druid on Uther realm. Just to let you guys know where I stand on this RealID business.

Although I think its great that people have a choice to use it in-game or not, and though there is the option of NOT posting on the forums anymore, I think the idea of forcing people to post under real names in the future is just plain stupid for a number of reasons...

1. Anonymity - A lot of WoWers play the game to escape from reality, and those who post on the forums, will have to just stop if they want to keep their real life separated from their game life. Not to mention there are RP forums..for role playing.. hello?

2. Trolling *rolls eyes* - Blizzard says it will reduce trolling.. Yes it will reduce trolling ON BLIZZARD FORUMS. Just because the trolls will choose not to post (for fear of exposing themselves) does NOT mean they won't keep READING and possibly trolling good posters elsewhere, like social networking sites a simple Google search would bring up under the person's real name (if they use it for social networking of course,) especially with the new ammunition of having someone's real name in their hands.

3. Privacy - It's just a downright invasion of privacy. Aren't there laws against this kinda stuff? You'd think after the whole Facebook fiasco, Blizzard (and all other companies planning to "socialize" their networks) would learn that privacy is very important to their users... But that just makes sense, right?

Anyway, I was going to let my subscription just keep going, but as it is, I canceled so that Blizz won't have my money ('til I decide to play again of course). ^_^ I'll most likely still come back for Brewfest since I don't want to wait another year to get the Reins of the Violet Proto Drake.. But anyway.. Poop in Blizzard's eye.

Youre all probably tired of hearing it, but I actually have potentially good news regarding the stilts that I thought I'd never have.

I commented on a video of the stilts on YouTube that the inventor, Kim Graham, posted, saying that I was a customer.. it's a shame Weta is no longer making them.. and that I'd like to know if she's looking for another company to produce them. She replied! Basically saying she's looking for another company but hopes in the meantime to build them herself and for me to "drop her a line."

I emailed her directly today and she already replied! Nothing set in stone as far as getting the commission on these yet, but my spirits have been lifted being able to work with her directly. ^_^

Small (Very Personal) Update

I'm not looking for any sort of sympathy, just really thought I should let all you kind folks who read my blog know something pretty personal: I'm a sufferer of severe depression and I am currently refusing to take drugs for it. Never have taken meds for mental issues before and I don't want to. Just felt the need to let you know why I'm slow to bring you any WoW related news: I simply haven't been playing WoW lately.

Also, the main reason I'm telling you this is because depression hit me like a truck when I found out the Weta Legs were not gonna happen. The only luxury item I've ever spent even close to that amount of money on was my PC... And even that wasn't completely for pleasure only, know what I'm sayin? So, it felt nice to be able to buy something so, uhm (I don't wanna say pointless...) specifically meant for one use only(?). You get what I'm saying, right? And it was thorough suckage getting the bad news that my luxury-pleasure-only item wasn't ever gonna be a reality. I'm looking for another builder though or even making some hooves myself because I'd still love to cosplay for you all. :)

Anyway, if you read all that blabbering, thank you for being a friend. I apologize that I've got nothing WoW for you at the moment. I've actually been playing Second Life lately to satisfy my urge to create and buy "material" things in instant-gratification-mode. ^_^ I figured, fill my head with thoughts of limitless creation and inventory space 'til the feelings of the lack of Weta Legs subsides. *sigh* [Yes, I know that it's a strange trigger for depression, but... it triggered it =/.]

I was apparently one of the very few people who actually ordered "Weta Legs" from Weta/Performing Legs Ltd. I received an email just yesterday informing me that Weta has regretfully decided not to proceed with production on the stilts. If you're wondering why it's been so long since I've updated with music news, it's because of the heat! Haha, yes, the heat.

I live in an upstairs apartment and it gets pretty warm during hot weather. We do have an air conditioner in our living room, but where it's installed plus the layout of our place is really bad for trying to get the air into the den… even with a ghetto setup of three fans directing the air toward the back rooms. So, I've been reluctant to work in the office when it started getting warmer plus the fact that my and Nuku's PCs warm up the room even more than just the hot weather.

I do bring my laptop out to the living room to work more comfortably, but it's not an ideal place for recording.

Anyway, long story short: instead of BlizzCon tickets, Nuku and I bought a portable air conditioner just for the den ^_^. Yay.

Changing up my "logo" for some new shirts in the shoppe. So... there's nothing there anymore at the moment! I took everything down. Felt liberating actually. Anyway, I'll let you know when it's back "up" with some sort of product thing.. 'cuz technically its up, its just empty. Also, the shirts that will go up in the very near future will generally be for the female persuasion since they'll flat out say "Girls Do Play WoW". I'll think of something for you guys out there, I promise. Unless you're a guy who likes girly a typeface on his shirt, then knock urself out buying what I put up! ^_^

Anyway, it's already midnight so I'm gonna get to bed. The design process must be put on hold 'til tomorrow because sleep is not waiting for me... *passes out at her keyboard*

Last Sunday, I ordered the Weta Legs (see http://www.wetanz.com/wetalegs) thanks to your very, very, very generous contributions to the "Isolte Cosplay Fund". I've been diligently working on the "thank you" gift(s) if you're wondering where I've been. ^_^ Just want to let you know that I'm breathing as much thankful, creative, loving energy into it as possible!

Also, I plan to check out some costume stuffs at Fanime Con this coming weekend such as contact lenses and other various things I might find useful for becoming Isolte. ^_^ Lets hope I find some more great ideas... speaking of ideas, it just hit me that Draenei have fangs and I already have that taken care of. XD

Anyway, I've been neglecting the game, but fear not my friends! It is all for good cause. I've been contacted by Markee Dragon about writing/singing an intro "jingle" for his YouTube show, and I've further partnered with Per Kiilstofte of THE MachinimaSound.com to compose the music and work with me on the lyrics. ^_^ (Of course, Markee contacted me after my ~~pestering~~ social networking comments on his videos got him to simply check out my YouTube channel! XP)

I feel like I've been neglecting my li'l blog here in that I left some pages unfinished and that it desperately needs a new look. I'm just bored of the header already, hehe. =/

So to satisfy my tiny upgrade needs at the moment, I made my Characters page a little more complete, moved my social network links to the oh-so-appropriate Contact page, added a new link to the CaféPress Shoppe, and added a "ChipIn" fund-raising counter to the sidebar for anyone so inclined to donate to my cosplay fund.

About the Shoppe: I just added a few "designs", but there will be more to come. And if you have any suggestions and ideas for designs or items you'd like in the store please let me know.

About the "ChipIn": All contributions made through "ChipIn" go directly to my personal Paypal account. This is not an organization you're donating to, it's just li'l ol' me. So, excuse me if it's gauche to ask for donations, but the cosplay isn't just for me you know! ^_^ Also, I don't have anything put together in the form of a "Thank You" package just yet, but for contributions over $25, expect SOMEthing. ^_^

Game Master Flyor Is My Hero

Now all three of my "AttentionWhore" gearsets are complete! *muahahaha*

Thanks to a lvl 65 priest I happened to see in Stormwind the other day wearing a [Goldweave Tunic], I noticed that it was the exact same model as the [Elegant Tunic] I've been searching for to complete the "Slexy Gold" AW set. I Wowhead'ed the item and to my dismay, it was a quest reward from a quest I completed who knows how long ago when I was leveling to 70. Lol.

So, instead of continuing to offer Trade 1000g for the [Elegant Tunic], I took a moment to open a ticket that went something like this:

I'd like to know if it is possible to buy back an item that I've sold a VERY long time ago. The item is a quest reward from a quest I've already completed, the [Goldweave Tunic] from the quest called "Zeth'Gor Must Burn" from quest giver "Wing Commander Dabir'ee" in Hellfire Peninsula. I understand how complex this request may be but I thank you for your time.

Character: Isolte

I opened up that ticket just a couple days ago, and I expected a quick "Your ticket has a response" saying, "Nope. We can't do that for you." But, yesterday I noticed the li'l ticket box said, "Your ticket has been escalated" making me a wee bit hopeful ^_^.

And today, I logged in to see no more petition box! So, I checked my mail and here was the response from Game Master Flyor:

"Greetings Isolte!

First I wanted to thank you for taking the time to talk to me today. Unfortunately I am unable to chat with you directly about your issue due to the current wait time for tickets. However I have received and reviewed your petition about your missing Goldweave Tunic.

I was able to find your missing Tunic in the void dimiension where deleted items and characters go. The bad news is the dead murlocs that live there have claimed it as their property! But fear not o'brave Isolte, for they are no match for The Mighty Tauren Game Master Flyor!! I plunged hoof first into battle, and let out my fierce battle cry: "KERPLAAAHH!" And to make a long story short, (too late) I reclaimed your Tunic and have returned it to it's rightful place by your side. =)

I absolutely adore the little role playing part about GM Flyor fighting the dead murlocs ^_^. This in-game mail made my day! ... and saved me 1000g lol!
