WOOT is really an acronym for...

Patch 3.2.2

...Want One Of Those. Or at least that's what I learned regarding the origins of the phrase. Lots of people say it started with D&D as a shortened version of the exclamation, "Wow, loot!" But I like "Want one of those" better. I mean, yeah, both meanings make sense in every context I've ever heard ANY gamer or geek use it, but I just like thinking that it actually started as an acronym since the thought of a D&D nerd saying, "Woot!" just sounds a lot less clever.

Anyway, It's that time of year again, kids... It's Brewfest! This is by far my favorite world event and thanks to following RaidLeader on Twitter, I came across this useful guide to obtaining the Brewmaster Achievement. Just wanted to get you all in the spirit, so put on your [Brewfest Garb], grab some [Preserved Brewfest Hops], and put down your [Brewfest Pony Keg], this Brewfest will be the best one yet!

Other Stuff...

If you haven't visited my blog within the past month, you'll see some slight changes. Changing the Blogger layout to 3 columns instead of two was a huge win! Also, I've added Twitter updates to the sidebar... I know some people really don't give a shit about what I'm doing in my personal life but, well, this is MY blog, so you'll have to just deal with it. XP

In other news, I've been keeping in touch with Wailington of YouTube, a.k.a. Wail Fail, who asked me to collaborate with him on a WoW-parody song of his. Last I checked he's still working out some things as far as recording on his end. I'm excited to hear what he's got. I've just got to be patient =).

Something I'm really, really excited about is the fact that my order from BSW will be arriving next week on Monday! I decided that my "studio space" needed an upgrade so I ordered a pop filter (lol), a shock mount for my mic (lol again), and (drum roll please...) a Heil PL2T overhead broadcast microphone boom that I can mount to my desk like a snazzy radio talk show host. I only lol at the pop filter and shock mount because I really should've already owned these items since they're like basic necessities for ANY audio recording... but I never really had the drive to keep recording until I started this blog, so sexier recording setup, here I come!

The Guild S3E4

Patch 3.2.0

SEASON 3, EPISODE 4
<br/><a href="http://video.msn.com/video.aspx?mkt=en-US&vid=2db36212-baaf-4fe6-9cc5-cdefe4b27f40" target="_new" title="Season 3 - Episode 4: Get it back!">Video: Season 3 - Episode 4: Get it back!</a>

And a nice out-take reel...
<br/><a href="http://video.msn.com/video.aspx?mkt=en-US&vid=2408c4d7-0526-464d-bb55-aee3c0543077" target="_new" title="Season 3 - Gag Reel: Episodes 1-4">Video: Season 3 - Gag Reel: Episodes 1-4</a>

I'm not sure where this season is headed. I'm still watching the show, so that's a good sign but it seems to be getting a lot more personal and more into the individual characters' lives. I like a good drama now and again if it's written and acted out well, and I hope the fans that were drawn to The Guild simply because of the WoW factor are still watching too. Felicia Day is a very talented writer and actress and I am curious to see where this rival guild story will go, so I'll still keep watching for that. =)

Taking a li'l break...

Patch 3.2.0

Just logged in to do my Jewelcrafting and cooking dailies today. I may log in for a li'l bit to see what Pirate day is all about in Booty Bay tomorrow, but other than that, I might not be on that much this weekend just to take a breather and try to find something more "productive" to do with my time. I just don't want to feel like I've wasted my weekend. I may do the heroic daily tomorrow too cuz I'm just three heroic dailies away from getting new shoulders: [Epaulets of the Devourer]. But we'll see.

Patch 3.2.0

Welcome to New Moon and to Daggerspine, Helpful and Unrelated!

Another friend that Nuku and I know in real life transferred over to our server. He even did a faction change just before transferring because we all know we're gonna roll worgen when Cataclysm comes out.=) He brought one of his friends along with him too, so two new guildies for our tiny li'l guild. WoW or Hookah?

Patch 3.2.0

Tonight, I choose the hookah. Sorry, WoW. =p Kiwi-Strawberry's the flavor of the night. Hope you don't mind too much that this post is just barely WoW related in that I'm choosing NOT to play tonight. haha! I would smoke and play at the same time, but I end up getting to involved with the game that I end up letting the shisha burn. I just felt like takin' it easy and stepping away from the computer as much as I possibly could tonight. Obviously I'm failing since I'm here blogging... Inorite? I'm a baddie.

New Moon and New Members

Patch 3.2.0

I'm really tired so I'll try to make this brief. I got all the signatures I needed today to create a horde version of New Moon. And just like Isolté the troll shaman's name, so too does Néw Moon (horde) have an accent in it. =D So now I have Isolte of New Moon (Alliance) and Isolté of Néw Moon (Horde). I also made the tabard look exactly the same for both horde and alliance guilds. I made Nuku put on a guild tabard and go to the guild master to pretend to create a new crest so that I could see exactly what colors, border and icon I used. =p

Anyway, I met this cool chick named Veenis. She was the second to last signature I got on the guild charter. To celebrate, we hosted a naked dance party in Orgrimmar and hung out for hours. Eventually, she hopped on her main, Lucrene (Loo-kreen.. I even asked her how to pronounce it,) and we hopped on vent and hung out in game even longer. There was this guy, Frosters, hanging out with us in-game and even on vent, but he didn't have a mic.

Anyway, long story short: Lucrene is cool and I'd like to get to know her more in-game and out. She makes me wish I was leveled to 80 already so we can run heroics 'n shit together. Frosters.. well I'm still kinda figuring him out. Sometimes he was cool, but at other times he was kinda overly excited about things. Oh well. I'd group with him again anyway 'cause he's fun company.

EDIT: LOL I just realized, Frosters' profile currently shows him nekkid. Haha. We were so dancing nekkid in Orgrimmar for hours I swear. Good times.

Thoughts on Faction Changing

Patch 3.2.0

I came across a thread in the Daggerspine forums about faction switching and people who are planning on switching and I'm actually really glad Blizzard decided to make Faction changes available. The Horde/Alliance feud gets pretty frustrating when you meet someone irl who plays WoW ON YOUR SERVER (what are the odds of that?!) and then you find out that they play the opposite faction you do. LOL. Also, I saw a lot of Alliance posters in that thread that were switching to Horde that I'm almost positive NO ONE would miss. Hehe. Plus, for all those kids who want to be e-popular, this is a great way to go and annoy a new group of people with Trade-chat trolling and being bad in general on the other side.

So, yay for bad Alliance switching over to Horde, and yay for new baddies coming to join the Alliance. I guess I'm just really excited about seeing "new faces" so to speak. The game starts feeling kind of stale when you pretty much play with the same people day-in and day-out. It's kinda like this: although WoW is a massively multiplayer online game, you still run into the same 50 people. It was about time for a change even if it is small at first. I'm sure the closer we get to Cataclysm, the more switchers we'll see. And along with switchers will most likely come an excitement that the game so desperately needs in preparation for the next expansion.

Im not switching any of my toons over to horde because I really don't have a reason to. But I did create a new horde toon just to see what leveling is like with the prospect of running into (or getting ganked by) an Alliance I know and having the opportunity to hop on my main just to say, "Hi [Friend], plz don't kill me. k thx." XD

New Moon

Patch 3.2.0

When other players find out that I'm the Guild Master of my own guild, New Moon, the question inevitably comes up: What does it mean? So, when I say it's my favorite book series, a player will often assume they know what it is and say, "Lemme guess... You a Stephanie Meyer fan?" I get kind of upset just because Ms. Meyer's success makes it more time consuming for me to explain that my New Moon has nothing to do with vampires. =) But it also gives me a chance to tell others about Midori Snyder's New Moon.

The trilogy by Midori Snyder, as far as I know, goes by New Moon Trilogy, Queens' Quarter Trilogy, and/or Oran Trilogy. The three books in order are New Moon, Sadar's Keep, and Beldan's Fire. These have been my "favorite book" since I was in the eighth grade. (I'm 24 years old now and I still love to re-read it.) If you are a fan of fantasy stories about elemental magick, rebel armies with a good cause, love and loss, these books are a must read. If you love to read and even if you don't like to read, like me, I have a feeling you'd still get hooked too.

New Moon is not just the title of the first book, but it's the name of the rebel group of the Queens' Quarter story. It is my somewhat secret hope that my guild members can display the same sort of courage and passion that Snyder's New Moon displays all throughout the story. Buuut... since I'm not playing on an RP server, I kinda keep that hope to myself so that I don't get flamed by all the PvPers and non-roleplayers. LOL. XD

And there you have it: why New Moon is called New Moon.

Come to the dark side.. we have cookies!

Patch 3.2.0

So, I went and did it. I rolled a li'l hordie last night. A Troll Shaman appropriately named Isolté (complete with accented character in the name denoting the fact that the original name is taken =) lol.) I got her to level 9 just doing quests and I met some fun people. First person I sent a tell to, since I'm a stalker and he was online, was Dèèps, the undead warrior I was playing around with in the Underbelly while I was on my Alliance shaman. We drank [Underbelly Elixers], dueled as bugs, and emoted the time away. It was fun until I had to leave abruptly. It was at that moment when I had to leave that I decided, my lvl 22 warrior has got to go so I can have at least one horde character on this server!

Anyway, I had so much fun that I stayed up WAY too late, (another all-nighter) and I ran into Thescandall again =) except I messaged him on Isolté rather than his alliance toon messaging my main. Something funny that I did tonight that I wouldn't even dream of doing in Alliance trade chat was: I asked for bags. lol. I got maybe 4 people saying, "OMG gimme free lootz QQ, go level, go quest" etc.. but there were more than a few people who whispered me directly asking "where you at, I'll give you one". I WAS SHOCKED AND AMAZED! Thanks to you, female troll shaman who kept DCing while trying to trade me bags (I can't remember your name for the life of me) and I owe you! And thanks Gunmang for the uber [Netherweave Bag]x4 AND the run through RFC. It was the best 7 minutes of my Shaman's life to date.

Personal Drama Lulz... Read at your own risk!!!

Patch 3.2.0

Tradechat-Troll of Daggerspine, Luzzy, decided to target li'l ol' me yesterday in his tradechat rants. Lol. At first, of course, I was shocked and defensive and I sent Troll some ranting tells to cut it out. (I was mostly upset that he was pretty much fake to me before and proved yesterday that all he ever looks for is people to make fun of in trade.) What he said, no rather spammed about me in trade was true, the fact that I consider myself a furry, but the implications of what he said are definitely NOT.

Oh well. People who want to know more about me will find that out anyway, since my music for download is hosted on my Business website, blackbackstudio.com. I'm just annoyed at the fact that immature, uninformed kids will come to the conclusion that I am a stereotypical "furry", you know, the ones that you see on CSI or MTV's Sex2k episode. But I guess, it comes with the territory of trying to get my name out there for people to listen to my music.... and it's good for business, since obviously, people are checking out BlackBackStudio.com. =)

And, just for the record, since uninformed losers may even read my blog: I don't have sex with my dog or any animals for that matter, I don't have sex in animal costumes, and I don't enjoy watching animals have sex.. And even if I DID any of that nasty, illegal shit, why is it anyone else's business but my own? Oh yeah, I know why: because I'm becoming more popular than the Trolls and they're getting jealous XD. Anyway, I consider myself a furry because I like anthropomorphic art and literature (think egyptian gods and goddesses). Plus I build mascot costumes, perform in costume at children's events for community service, and I'd like to be just one more person who calls herself a furry who can change what some people THINK furries are. It's just up to you to accept that some furries are normal just like you.
